We also do the occasional article now as well dont-ch-ya-know!
Friday again, can you believe it? Here’s one thing you can believe in; that we’ve got another stonking Rock Song of the Week pick lined up for you. That’s our completely non-binding guarantee!
This time around, the spotlight falls on The Raven Age, an English ensemble formed in 2009 by George Harris and Dan Wright. Their blend of alt-metal and melodic metalcore results in some genuinely lovely vocal work over a pounding stream of drums and riffs, which is a combination I’m sure most of us here find quite agreeable. The band has released three albums, all of which have something great on them if not good, so by all means let this be a springboard into something that might be your new squeeze. If guitarist George Harris looks familiar, by the way, that’s probably because he’s the son of Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris. Not that you’d recognise him from the music video, because he’s not in it. Still, don’t let anyone tell you we don’t have lots of fun facts to share!
A bit of uptempo alternative metal never goes amiss on a Friday morning and that’s exactly what we have waiting for you with one more click of a button. Fleur De Lis was a lock-in for a Rock Song of the Week appearance, so make like the CIA and get listening. Now, I’m not saying they report back to us on whether you listen to the song in full. Because, legally, I’m not allowed to say that.
If you like what you hear, please consider purchasing via Bandcamp if the option is available as this is usually the best way to support the artist.
