Heads up time! While there are bonus points to be awarded for the absolutely cracking Microsoft Paint music video for today’s Rock Song of the Week pick, which is well worth a full watch through, it does contain a few pixelly images that younger viewers/anyone looking over your shoulder on the train might object to. You’ll just have to make sure the audio is heard by twice as many people to make up for it.
Now we’ve got the boring stuff out of the way, time to kick some chairs over. Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes didn’t so much hit the scene as run an eighteen wheeler into it with their ferocious blend of cooler than cool punk style and weighty themes. Ex-Gallows frontman Frank Carter brings the business wherever he goes – their music goes hard and their live shows are a chaotic treat. And given they’ve got no arms or legs, the Rattlesnakes do a pretty good job of playing their instruments on time as well! Not sure any amount of meta commentary is going to save that dad joke, but you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
For the second time in as many paragraphs; enough nonsense, time to get the party started. This week’s Rock Song of the Week, “Devil Inside Me”, is a no-holds-barred ramraid of a punk track, which we are fully certain counts as one of your five a day for the positive effect it will have on you. We hope you’re not sitting comfortably, because you need to be up out of your seat for the full effect of this one. Especially when you feel the need to kick the chair over at some point.
